Kyrgyzstan is a land of mountains. The Tian Shan mountain range covers over 80% of Kyrgyzstan and is now a UNESCO world heritage site.
It has the world's second largest mountain lake named the Issyk-Kul Lake.
Vientiane is the capital of Laos.
During the Vietnam war, U.S.A conducted a covert war in neighbouring Laos. In the period between 1963 to 1974, American military dropped 2.5 million tons of bombs in 600,000 bombing raids. America left a deadly legacy as Laos became the most bombed country in the history. Even today, locals find unexploded cluster bombs scattered across their country.
The sad history aside, Laos is still a mysteriously beautiful place. The Plain of Jars located in the Xiangkhoang Plateau, is covered with thousands of huge stone jars that were used as a burial site in the ancient times.
Hanoi is the capital of Vietnam.
